In the Liwiec Valley

Come in and unwind.

Our modest spruce home, while cozy, does not wish to keep you inside. It huddles in the corner of a huge half-hectare land right above the calm Liwiec River. You will discover peace, inner calm, and slow life here. All the colors of green, romantic sunsets from behind the trees on the other side, the Liwiec River's relaxing stream, and the woodland concerts of cyrannets, great curlews, herons, and field pipits.

The cottage offers two large double beds and a small sofa, as well as a shower and toilet. There is an induction stove, a refrigerator, an ability to brew coffee in three different ways, and everything you need to create meals in the kitchen. There is lots of storage space, as well as heating and air conditioning. We welcome visitors all year.

You have the following options:

  • sauna
  • two bicycles
  • Pinpack canoe-pontoon, which you can float down, pack into a comfortable backpack, and return to the cottage
  • hammocks
  • Wi-Fi

Surroundings

The Liwiec River Valley, the river's nature

The Liwiec is a beautiful, wild, and pure river that is yet unregulated. It flows with a gentle stream along the boundary between Mazovia and Podlasie. There are huge meadows and pastures on both banks of the River Liwiec, as well as moraine hills and pine groves, riparian woods, alder and alder-ash forests.

Many birds live in the Liwiec Valley, including ortholans, woodpeckers, grebes, bluethroats, kingfishers, terns, corncrakes, black storks, and many others. Walking herds of roe deer and wild boar may be seen from the terrace, especially early in the morning before brewing your first cup of coffee. You could see a moose, but more likely a hare, and you might come across a lazing otter on the river side.

What could I do here?

After you've had your fill of greenery and bird flights, jump on a bike. The Liwiec Valley has a variety of well-marked bike paths, including those that are part of the Nadbuzanski Landscape Park's trails. Rafting down the Liwiec River, which enables you to appreciate the valley's unique beauty, is one of the main attractions for visitors - canoeists. In Seklak, you may pick between numerous rafting packages arranged by local companies or our packcraft that will fit in your backpack. In the evening, you may unwind in a spruce sauna, a hammock, or under a linden tree while watching the red-pink sunsets.

Access (from Warsaw)

The most convenient method to get to Seklak is by car. The journey will be completed in less than an hour. Fast routes S8 and 62 connect the north and center, and S2 and 50 connect the south. You may also take the train/SKM from Wilenski Station to the next town, Lochow, about 50-60 minutes depending on the time of day.
